You generally know that we collect information in this way because we ask you for it or you choose to give it to us.
Automatically from you
We collect information automatically from youwhen you visit, interact with, and/or navigate the Website, open an email, or click on one of our advertisements. Automatic collection technologies help us improve the Website and our products and services, and deliver a better and more personalized experience. We automatically create website log files when you access the Website. We also use automated data collection technologies – such as cookies, web beacons, tags, and scripts – to administer the Website, analyze trends, and track your movements around the Website and across websites.
- Cookies and web tracking technologies. We use cookies and other automated technologies on the Website to help us analyze traffic and improve Website contents and function.
A cookie is a small text file placed and stored on the device you use to interact with the Website. Cookies send information back to the Website, and to other websites that recognize the cookie. Essential cookies are necessary for the Website to function properly. You cannot reject/turn off essential cookies in our systems. If you choose to block essential cookies, parts of the Website may not work properly. Functional/performance cookies tell us how visitors move around the Website, which Website features are most and least popular, how many people visit the Website, and the sources of Website traffic. You may disable or refuse to accept certain cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. If you use a different device or browser to access the Website, you will need to reset your cookie management preferences.
As web beacon (sometimes called a “clear gif,” “single-pixel gif,” “page tag,” or “web bus”) is a small, transparent image embedded in a webpage, application, or email. We use web beacons to track the webpages you visit, examine the effectiveness of our marketing, and determine if an email has been opened or acted on.
- Third party advertisers. We may use advertisers, third party ad networks, and other ad companies to serve advertisements on the Website. These advertising companies may set cookies through the Website, or use web beacons or other technologies to gather information about your use of the Website (including which ads were served to your browser, and which webpages you were viewing at the time) and use this information to create an interest-based profile for you to deliver related advertising.
- THIS PRIVACY POLICY DOES NOT COVER THE COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION BY SUCH ADVERTISING COMPANIES.
- Social media plugins. The Website uses plugins from Social Media Sites (defined below), indicated by social media sharing buttons on the Website. These are used to establish a direct connection with the servers of the Social Media Sites. Integration of a plugin allows the Social Media Site to receive the information you have loaded onto the corresponding page of the Website. For example, if you are logged into Facebook when you visit the Website, the plugin can assign your Website visit to your Facebook account, regardless of whether you interact with the plugin. If you do interact with a plugin, your browser send the corresponding information directly to the Social Media Site, and it is saved there. If you do not want Social Media Sites to collect information about you via the Website, you must log out of the Social Media Site domain before visiting the Website, and not interact with plug-ins. You can opt out of cookies to prevent information from being exchanges with Social Media Sites during your visit to the Website.
